Women Empowerment Program Launches in Tigray

The women’s association of tigray (WAT) has officially launched a Women Empowerment Program aimed at providing skills training, financial support, and leadership development for women across the region. The program, funded by local and international partners, seeks to empower over 5,000 women in entrepreneurship, vocational skills, and digital literacy.

“Our goal is to create a self-sustaining and economically independent community of women,” said Ms. Netsanet Abera, chairperson of WAT.

The initiative will focus on:
Microfinance support for small businesses
Workshops on gender equality & leadership
Skills training in agriculture, technology, and trade

This marks a significant step towards economic and social empowerment for women in Tigray.
